Who can Parkour?

I am six foot six and built like a pole. Can I still become decent at Parkour? What effects does body shape and size have on preformance? I have a liitle more trouble doing rolls because I absorb most of the shock in my legs. Is this bad?

I recently decided I wanted to start parkour and so does a pal of mine. However we are both friends with a girl who is really terrified that we'll end up in a hospital or worse. Any suggestions to help her cope with it? I want to do parkour but I don't want to terrify her when I mention it.

I have seen many many posts from people saying stuff like "no-one does parkour where I live" followed by 20 frowny emoticons. You know what I'm talking about. Here is some advice and ideas I've thought through.

As you've probably noticed, the community here at UF is a close-knit one. The majority of our members are encouraging, helpful, and highly informed regarding the mental and physical sides of parkour. It's easy to assume that everyone is just as benevolent, making us feel like this is some sort of haven where's it's ok to let down our guard.

Unfortunately, that's a really, really bad idea.
