It happened a couple of weeks ago but we met up with some fellow parkour followers. They said hi then saw my bag (UF glyph bag) and said "who likes urban freeflow their only init for the money" This angered me

. So the point of this is has this happened to any one before and if so how did they deal with it and have you got any good comebacks to say next time. (Btw this hasn't put me off urban freeflow).

In all seriousness though, if people are that bothered about what gear you wear maybe you should just bitchslap them out of their pretentious bubbles. There's too much politics in parkour; just be in it for the fun.

In all seriousness, don't let it bother you. If you take their line of thought, you can say "OMG, you be wearing dem Nike kicks yo. Don't u kno that dem woz made by 8 year old kids in sweat shops?" Repeat the same line for any other brand they are wearing unless they are wearing Primark bottoms. If they are, just substitute the whole line for "Tramp".

Blargh, I had some guy ranting on at me about parkour not being this or that and how I couldn't say I did it and UF is a load of crap etc. I was just like, man, you're so stupid. Shut up. Surely parkour and freerunning should be free things, unspoiled by old fogeys? Because that's what these people act like. Coffin dodgers with nothing better to do. Why don't they actually go out and do something rather than spend their time ranting on at people about what's what?

Parkour isn't about doing the biggest things fast, it's about doing the smallest things slow.

If I could make money from parkour i'm damn sure I would do it.

It's not why i'm in it but if you can earn a living from something you love then you are going to put your all into it, and most importantly, its going to make you very happy. You just gota be careful what you do and how you do it and not let it get too corporate.

If the people who practice parkour are the people who are doing the work then I think everything will be ok. Its when it gets into the hands of the people who know nothing about the discipline that things will go wonky.

Keep it pure and do it for the love.

heh I love people like that, they are so caught up with hating on everyone else, that they spend more time bitching than training. At the end of the day, most people who go around hating on things instead of getting on with it themselves just have .......... ffs forgot the word......... insecurities about themselves and do it just to reassure themselves that "they are better". It's like the kids you get who feel threatened by you so they constantly try and belittle you or constantly try and punch you or catch you out, they only do it because they feel undermined - kid at work does it all the time.

Good idea, the biro's we have go fat in the middle so with enough push it might get lodged hehe. He's a little bit simple, I've chased him with a pair of AA batteries before saying I was going to electrocute him and he ran away screaming.

They're just jealous because you're rocking fly apparel.

The whole hating thing is really amusing. The World Freerun Championship vid we released last week (which is a blatant spoof) has already spawned threads stating how UF is killing Parkour with the notion of a world championship event.

I guess some people are just plain stooopid.

It is not about the money.It is about loving parkour too.Money came after.
Im sure i would too like to get payed for teaching and doing parkour.
Being payed for the thing i love and i would do without being payed?Wow.

But there is no way that i would let someone to pay me to kill what i love.

I admire to some guys in UF for the skills,but im also sick of some people.
And i hate when someone says that all the "ufhaters" or "purists" are just jelaous because you have money,or better clothing , cars.
What the heck does that have to do with anything?

And i think that you all are a bit egoistic, thinking that the whole community hates you because you are something.
No.Only thing that bothers me is the way you approach parkour;its just for fun;no matter if i do whatever what is against parkour values,at the end of the day,its just for fun is it.You all act like there is no phylosophical side of parkour.Like it is only a thing to entertain you.
