Hey guys

I realised that in the month that I've been here, I've posted one video..not what I wanted to do, so I need you to help me. I wanted to know if you would rather see just a bunch of clips of me training and showing what I can do, or a video with a storyline which is all planned out and has something more than just a training video. Let me know what you think, if you care. If not, thanks for reading

How long have you actually been training? No offence, but judging on your other video, I'd recommend training more, and not focusing on making videos. But if you are going to make one, I personally never liked storylined videos as much. I meant here are a few good ones, but i think it's a lot harder to do well.

Haha noo, my last video was crap, which is why I'm making a new one. It was a crappy movie we did in a crappy spot, with a crappy camera, so there wasn't really room to show what we can do. I've been training for years, but never really bothered with videos if I'm honest, but I think now's the time, now that I've started on the forums.

i have to agree with schlanger on this one i like vids with no story line, just moves and training.
p.s you don't have to ask people what they want to see, just do what you feel is the best thng to do, its ur vid.

+1. Fair enough, I thought you only started parkour when you joined the forums, and to be honest at least the first year of training is best spent doing just that: training.

Thread hijack. this thread is now about music in videos. I have a cool song that I want to use in my next video, but it's all french and rappy, and I get the feeling it's too cliché, and the more I listen to it, the less I want to use it. The other song I have in mind is a mega chilled out sort of a song by Mr Scruff, but I'm also not sure fo this will work. Help plox?

Another thread hijack

I'm not sure whether my upcoming video should be pure parkour, or parkour and tricking. While I can do freerunning, and I enjoy it, I don't want to put it in a video. So bear in mind if there are tricks, they will be on flat ground. What would you guys prefer to see in a video?

Isn't Freerunning essentially Parkour and Tricking combined? Seems odd to include both extremes but not the middle. Anyway, I'd go for putting in some Tricking to add variety, unless you have enough very different situations for the Parkour portions.

As for music, if you go for something fast it might be difficult to get your speed in the movie to match the music's pace, this can be particularly true if you include tricking and those clips include pauses before and after the trick, which they usually would in order to give the audience a "setup time" so they see the trick and aren't still figuring out which way is up while you're in the middle of a flip. But I can't really say for sure without knowing the tempo of the two songs you're thinking of.

Yeah, true about the freerunning, I just find watching videos myself, I don't like it so much. I guess I'll wait until I make it, and use only parkour, then if it isn't long enough, edit some tricks in.
