thanks guys !!
how about "cat walks" or a "climb up" ? (meaning from a cat leap not a wall run) is it important learn how to balance on rails on work on their "precisions" ? second question, could a beginner practice his/her flips & tricks or should a beginner only focus on the basic pakour movements ?? |

i'd stick to basic parkour first, also kongs are an important vault that you will most likely find a challenge at first. If you are really keen on the idea
of flips and tricks then you can go gym straight away, that really depends on what you want.

I think you'd be better off putting the flips on hold, you'll find that once you have a better awareness of your body and gained greater spacial
awareness through parkour training, you'll take to flips a lot easier.
Climbups are an incredibly important technique and one that you'd benefit hugely from practising regularly from early on. Aim to be able to climb up without putting elbows or knees on the wall, from there try and get them symetrical and then just work on getting them as fast as possible. Balance is also incredibly important, if you can begin work on rail precisions early it will save you falling into the fear of rail precisions that a lot of people do through a lack of practising them. You sound like you have a good idea of what to work on yourself, just work on moving and draw inspiration from videos you've seen. Find somewhere to train, some walls to vaults or climb and some rails. Then just work on moving through that environment, as efficiently as you can. Just remember, you want to stretch your boundaries, but not break them. Stick to your limits

thanks guys for a awesome advice !! I progressed heaps !!
I'll try working on the basics !! I'll keep a hold on my flips until I master most of the basic skills. practicing a couple of days I found rail precisions and balancing are quite easy. for my climb up, still slow but got the timing for the nee kick up thing and the pull up so thats pretty good. how can you make it more fast and smooth ? kong vault/monkey vault was quite easy for me. I tryed a kong precision about 1m and sticked it (which I was really happy) !! it's better to take off one leg right ?? I found that much easier then a double leg take off. is there other things I should learn as a beginner ? by the way I need help for my roll. I can do a normal roll from a landing in a hard surface. but It always hurts my back when I try a dive roll on hard ground !! I can do with out a problem on grass. any advice ?? |

Backflip to penetration is vital if you want to start the basics.
Ermmm, yeah, on a side note. I would just do it whatever way feels comfortable to you and not rush things (that's free running, not the backflip to penetration). |
